Obsession (Amiga) - A Playguide and Review - by LemonAmiga.com
Obsession is a Pinball game with 4 unique tables and a polished sense of style. Lets check out those tables and see if they are any fun.
Production Notes:
Ripped: 23rd July 2015 (Tables 1,2 and 3), 9th Jan 2016 (Table 4)
Edited: 9th-16th Jan 2016
Most people have played Pinball on the Amiga, but this is often overlooked. We played this in the competition, and what you dont see here is the amount of quitting I did to get my high scores, if I didnt get at least 3M by the third ball on each table. Sometimes the unfairness of losing the ball makes it difficult to like this game, and the weight of the ball means easy mistakes and quick deaths. What you can see is a practice run of table 1 and 2, and my actual best score ever on table 3. When I came to make the edit, I realised I never got a recording of Table 4., so I recorded this before I put the show together.
I have been so busy this week with lots happening last weekend to put me behind. I also dedicated Monday and Tuesday to making the next part of my Top 50 Racing Games compilation, as a special 'Thank You' to all the backers who kindly supported my now successfully funded Quantum Leap Kickstarter campaign. This has been uploaded, and will be out tomorrow.
As work for clients took up a lot of time Wed and Thurs, I had to rush through completing this show whenever I could grab a moment, and I was still rendering it by 9pm on Friday, so it missed the usual Midnight scheduled release by about 40mins.
No Comparison Zone or fancy bits this time, as I only just got it ready for release day. Also, I just realised I forget to include all the magazine covers, even though I have them downloaded ready. I almost deleted this show with 12mins to go until release to put those in, and put the review up tomorrow. But I'm going to be very busy tomorrow so I decided just to release it as it is. There is no C64 game review this week either. Sorry about that
Bugs:
The game title music gets louder and drowns out the narration before the first table.
Table 2 has the most appalling frame judder as it was captured at 30fps. I now use 50fps.
