Pac-Mania - Atari ST (Gameplay / Let's Play)
Pac-Mania is a port of a popular 1987 Namco arcade game that was ported to the ST, as well as a bunch of other platforms via Grandslam Entertainment in 1989.
I think that everybody and his dog knows what Pac-Man is by now. You go around a maze collecting pellets whilst avoiding the ghosts.
However Pac-Mania twists the action somewhat by offering an isometric view and a much bigger maps to play on, so a lot of the time you can't see the ghosts until they are right up alongside you. There are also different variations of ghosts with some able to move much faster than yellow dot man and some have the ability to jump, which Pac-Man can now also do to literally jump over his foes to safety.
Overall its a good variation on the classic formula and the ST port is very, very good with some solid controls and reasonable visuals. It's also very fun to play in small bursts as well as being incredibly frustrating when the ghosts gang up on you, just like the arcade original.
