Forgotten Worlds - Sega Master System (Full Playthrough / Let's Play)
Forgotten Worlds was originally a Capcom arcade game that was ported to the Sega Master System in 1991.
It sees you take on the role of the unknown soldier who has fight an evil god known as Emperor Bios, who has destroyed most of the future landscape of Earth; doing so turning it into a desolated wasteland called 'Dust World'. Unlike other shooters at the time Forgotten Worlds allowed your character to fly around the screen using the joystick (or in this case the joypad) and a seperate couple of buttons were used to decide the direction of your shot - nowadays you would just use a duel stick controller.
The Master System version isn't arcade perfect, due to a lack of buttons the lead character now automatically shoots, which to be honest is no bad thing as you'll constantly be blasting away anyway. It's also lacking three of the stages - so you won't be able to see the Dragon on stage 2. There is also no 2 player mode, which is probably due to the framerate issues, because the game does slow down and glich in many places.
Barring that the game does play very well. The game is very repsonsive in its controls, the weapons are big and powerful, plus some of the bosses are some of the biggest you'll find on the Master System. I remember paying £7 for this back in 1995 and I do not regret my purchase, this is a great fun shooter for the 8-bit Sega console.
