RickyT's latest release is a half-episode of base maps made with Alkaline. What more could I ask for?

Don't let the Alkaline base fool you, though: Ricky set out to make these maps as compatible as possible, capable of running in GLQuake on a 90s PC (there are details in the pak's readme about minimum/recommended hardware configurations). The maps are still plenty interesting and they still hold up pretty well to modern standards - they don't feel small or simple at all.

In a way, I actually found the start map to be the most interesting part, because it really messes with the player's expectations. I was hoping that would be a sign of things to come, but the episode itself seemed pretty straightforward in terms of progression. The end of the last map in part 1 seemed like it could be setting up for a major transition, so I have to wonder if more trippy things will happen in the back half of the episode.

At any rate, it's great to see more from RickyT, and more content using Alkaline. This is an incredibly solid set of maps with lots of opportunity for poking around for secrets.
