(PCE 60fps) Mizubaku Daibouken (Liquid Kids) ~ Duo-R-ventures #20
Hipopo the super-deformed platypus voyages through liquidy levels for exit-door rendezvous with various female platypuses.
Mizubaku Daibouken only came out in Japan on PC Engine; it did come out in the States in the arcade, where it was titled "Liquid Kids." According to a FAQ on GameFAQs, "Mizubaku" means "water globe" or "water bomb," and I think "Daibouken" means something like "big adventure."
Graphically this is one of Taito's best PC Engine conversions, with big, colorful sprites, and not too much slowdown or flicker. (You can compare with the blurry, emulated arcade version in Taito Memories: Last Volume on PS2: https://youtu.be/v-McqaFBuq0?t=1940 .)
I'm not too keen on the stage design, but I do like collecting desserts. :d
