Peculiar Companions: Rank and file models that aren't peculiar!
It's not often I'm very interested in rank and file models.
I get bored easily with painting the same things over and over. What initially caught my eyes were Peculiar Companions' goblin and orc models. It's not often enough people stray outside of Medieval European settings when it comes to fantasy. Yes, we see occasional glimpses of ancient Japan, and all sorts of historical battlefields, but their Benin Kingdom influence on their goblins was something I have not seen before, and when people start stepping out of that comfort zone is often when my interest piques up.
So yeah, their Orcs and Goblins have traditional West African armor on which is something we don't see.. well, ever!
This got me doing all sorts of research which I commend them for.
But that's not even what this video is really about, is it?
Let's talk their Spanish infantry! Check these guys out! I blame my having reread Berserk once more for wanting to paint some generic foot soldier types...
These rank and file perfect for old hammer, kings of war, and even historical stuff. Shrink them down for even bigger units for more historical impact! You have a variety of poses, weapons, and various headgear to mix things up. Use them for town guards in your tabletop game. Make a pile of expendable troops for games like Frostgrave! Plus there's probably cavalry still coming!
