Penarium is basically a Super Meat Boy clone but some own mechanics. So in Super Meat Boy you have to play through a short course and each hit kills you, so you start and restart these courses until you learned where to jump and where to dodge to clear it.
Same goes for Penarium, but here you always have the course on only one screen and the level wraps around, like in Super Mario Bros 2. This means if you leave the screen on the left you come out at the right side of the screen and vice versa. Each level got their own traps and also their own goals to finish. So it starts that you have to survive for some time, then you have to collect falling bottles and bring them in crates of the same colours while dodging the traps. In the end i had to play simon says, where you have to hit the right colours in the right order, which is shown beforehand, but also while dodging missiles. If you die on a level, then you just have to restart that level and can try it again.
So yeah Penarium is one of these stressful/challenging games ;)
