Pikmin - Day 04 - Shock Absorber
The intrepid Captain Olimar ventures on! In our brief three days on this mysterious planet, we've already recovered five parts to our ship. Which means we've earned a little breathing room and don't have to hustle quick so much.
The area that we've been focusing on, 'The Forest of Hope' contains eight pieces of Olimar's ship, the Dolphin. We've already collected four: Eternal Fuel Dynamo, Whimsical Radar, Extraordinary Bolt and Nova Blaster. There is only one more piece available to us now, as the others will first require us to get Blue Pikmin. Let's venture on!
DAY 04 - SHOCK ABSORBER
Back in the Forest of Hope once again. The Shock Absorber is located close to where we found the Nova Blaster. Getting there will require some thinking. Take out 50 Pikmin or so. If you are starting a new day from your base, head out through the exit that leads to the field where the Eternal Fuel Dynamo was. Launch your Pikmin onto the ledge over on the far left side that has the large Red 5 disc.
You'll need to spread your Pikmin out a bit, as launching them all in the same spot will make them bunch up and start tripping over each other. Once they're all safely on the ledge, have Olimar walk a little to the left and pass through the water. Our Red and Yellow Pikmin can't walk through the water, but Olimar can do it just fine.
It might be kinda tricky to see or do on the first try, but there's a little slope that Olimar can shuffle up after walking passed the water. You'll then loop around to the right to see the SHOCK ABSORBER right there. There's a sleeping Spotted Bulbear, so we can't celebrate just yet.
I tried doing this part a couple of times. Somehow some of my Pikmin always jump the gun and start attacking before I'm ready. So unfortunately, that Bulbear ate two of my Pikmin... But after doing this about five times, this was the best playthrough lol.
Once you beat the Bulbear, you're free to collect the Shock Absorber. As I said, there's not really much you can do here now after this, without Blue Pikmin. So you can either call it a day, or spend some or all of the remaining time building up your Pikmin reserves.
I took this time to finally snatch up that large 20 Yellow disc. Welp, that's all for now. It's time for Olimar and the Pikmin to take a break. But next time, we'll be checking out a new area 'The Forest Navel'.
Join us next time for 'Day 05 - Automatic Gear & #1 Ionium Jet'.
