Cutesy fixed screen maze game, involving you as a sailor on the titular ship, taking out enemy pirates. To do so you pick up barrels and roll them at your pursuers. The pirates can sometimes hop in and out of the barrels-- when they're in the barrels (and walking towards you in them) you need to hit them once with a barrel and again when they're knocked out of them. When they're hopping out of a barrel, you need to steer clear or they can jump on you and kill you. Clear a level by taking out all the pirates-- a meter at the top indicates how many are left-- but also notice there is a pirate captain that keeps returning; you don't HAVE to kill him. Multiple pirates slain with one barrel gives you a nice bonus! Bonus items are in the flashing barrels; lift the barrels and claim your prize-- multiple prizes collected in a row also yield nice bonuses! Some barrels have an anchor inside-- collect it to freeze the pirates (but not their captain) for a short while. Every 4th level (I believe) has just the pirate captains as enemies, and there is a finite amount of them to kill. Here, bonus points are higher than on regular stages. Try your best not to get trapped; pick up and roll barrels that make up walls of the maze to give you more room.Take too long to complete a stage and the anchors moving around the edge of the maze turn into skulls; touch them and you lose a life!
