It is time to keep up with replacing the smaller structures for power and water with the larger, more efficient options, which are part of the technology system improvements. As stated before, they are purchased from the traders and how some of the last milestones are achieved. The last two milestones are increased population and a monolith. Before the monolith milestone is possible, a great deal of metal, bio-plastic and semiconductors have to be made and only after the other technology upgrades have been installed is this possible, or practical. The basic requirements are many robots and a lot of colony members doing what they specialize in to make enough parts the monolith requires. By now you have likely played more than 20 hours of gameplay and will likely need at least another 10 hours to be able to install the monolith.
