Natsume have shown off the first footage of their sequel to the classic SNES series Pocky & Rocky. Originally a Taito arcade release in 1986, then later getting a 1992 SNES release, Pocky & Rocky (aka KiKi KaiKai in Japan) is a top-down co-op scrolling shooter, in the style of Commando and Jackal. The playable characters are Pocky - a Shinto shrine maiden, and Rocky the Racoon. The game had two sequels - Pocky & Rocky 2 (SNES, 1994) and Pocky & Rocky with Becky (GBA, 2001).

The new game, Pocky & Rocky: Reshrined, is a faithful adaption of the original's visual style and gameplay. While it was announced back in Sep 2020, this week Natsume released the first teaser trailer of the new game. The game is due for a Q4 2021 release on PlayStation 4 and Switch.
