The next task is to find Mai, one of the wardens, but before then, I challenge Rei and his Pikachu to a battle. Then I set out to Aspiration Fields, where Mai awaits at the bridge, along with her Munchlax, and she tests us to see if we are ready, and then learn a bit of history about a being known as "almighty Sinnoh".

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

What you have to do is battle against Rei or Akari at the Training Ground, and one thing I never went over is that the battle theme is a remix of the Sinnoh Trainer Battle theme in Diamond & Pearl, there are some good remixes of those games added to this game. Rei has a Pikachu, and it shouldn't be too difficult, Shinx resists Pikachu's Thunder Shock, this game has Strong Style and Agile Style, Strong Style makes attacks more powerful, but it reduces your action speed, while Agile Style is the opposite, and some Pokédex tasks require your Pokémon to use a Strong Style or Agile Style move.
There are special effects, for example, Bidoof's Rollout has a Fixated effect, where it will be focused on using that move, but it will take more damage in battle.
After the battle, you will be introduced to Zisu, and from what I have heard, she look a bit like Flint, the Fire-type Elite Four member, and she is the Move Tutor of this game, it costs money to teach moves with her, but it does add more options, and you can rotate around moves, as there is no Move Relearner in this game, some moves I recommend is Ice Fang for Shinx to give it a way to deal with Ground-type Pokémon. I then show off Mystery Gift, which is unlocked when starting your fifth mission.
When you leave, Volo will approach you and teach you about the Secret Back Strike Technique, which can catch Pokémon easier, and there is a request to get a Springy Mushroom, which you can buy at the craft shop. There were some Pokémon that I didn't show in the previous part, you can get Drifloon at night, and you can get Mime Jr. as a rare encounter, and for tasks, you have to feed it food and catch it without being spotted, it learns Mimic at Level 25, so it will take while to get it to learn that move.
When you get to the bridge, you will find Mai, and she does look like Marley, and interesting trivia, Marley's Japanese name is Mai. She will battle you with her Munchlax, which is Level 10, and this can be a tough fight, if you taught Rock Smash to some of your Pokémon, that can help out a bit in the battle, you can find Munchlax in the wild very soon, but they are very rare.
After the battle, Mai tells you about almighty Sinnoh, and the next task is to go through Deertrack Path, and there is a new Pokémon you can encounter there, it is Kricketot, the tasks are to feed it and catch it without being spotted, it doesn't get a Bug-type move until Level 29 when it learns X-Scissor, it's not the best Pokémon, and it is one of few Pokémon that can learn False Swipe when it is evolved. There is a request to get Research Level 10 for Kricketot, which you will want to try and complete while you are there, and there is a quest where you have to give Cheri Berries to the man at Deertrack Path.
Found in the shaking trees is Burmy, its only move is Struggle Bug, making it a good fighter, and the tasks does require seeing a Burmy leap out of trees. Burmy has two different evolved forms, female Burmy evolve into Wormadam, and male Burmy evolve into Mothim, but you can find Mothim in the wild later on in the game.
Zubat can be encountered at night, and it is a fast Pokémon, it does come with Gust when caught, and for tasks, you have to defeat it with a Rock-type move, and catch it during the daylight hours, which isn't that easy as Zubat can disappear after a set while.
Geodude is on Deertrack Heights, it is a good Rock-type Pokémon, but it is a bit slow, the tasks are to see it leap out of ore deposits, defeat it with a Water or Grass-type move, and catching heavy specimens.
On the higher ledges, you can find Stantler, and it gained an evolution in this game, to evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer, you have to use Agile Style Psyshield Bash 20 times, Psyshield Bash is learned at Level 21, and Stantler can master it at Level 31, it is a decent Normal/Psychic-type when evolved.
Chimchar is the rare spawn, you can feed it food and catch it without being spotted, it is a great Pokémon if you can pick up one of those, and there is an even rarer chance of finding its evolved form Monferno there.
When you find Mai, you have to fight an Alpha Kricketune, Alpha Pokémon are much stronger and larger than normal Pokémon, you can catch that Kricketune if you want. Then we meet up with the clan leaders, and I do some quests, like giving Oran Berries, doing Sanqua's quest where I have to investigate her house, and accepting a quest to complete the Pokédex entry for Cherrim.
