I am playing as Zelda for this Classic Mode video, and for Classic Mode routes, I make a randomized list, which decides which characters will be selected, and at the time, I have 20 characters remaining, and Zelda is one of those characters, the playlist will display the fighters in order of how they are displayed on the roster. Zelda's Classic Mode route is Wisdom Prevails, referencing the Triforce of Wisdom which Zelda wields in The Legend of Zelda series, and one this route, all matches take place on stages from The Legend of Zelda series, and Zelda's opponents are antagonists.
To unlock Zelda, there are many different ways, one of them is Vs. Matches, where Zelda is the 2nd character to be unlocked, and she is the 4th character unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Kirby or anyone in his unlock tree after Pac-Man.
In Round 1, you fight against Wario on Great Plateau Tower, in Round 2, your opponent is Bowser, and the stage is Skyloft. In Round 3, you fight against 5 Mii Swordfighters in a Horde Battle on Temple, all of them use the Yiga Clan costume, in Round 4, your opponent is Giant King K. Rool, and the stage is Bridge of Eldin, King K. Rool could be a reference to King Bulblin, as he appears as a stage hazard on that stage. In Round 5, your opponent is Dark Samus, and you fight her on Gerudo Valley, in Round 6, you fight against four Dark Links, it's really Link using the Dark Link alternate costume, the stage you fight them on is Hyrule Castle.
Next up is the Bonus Stage, and in the final battle, you fight against Ganondorf, and after defeating him, you then have to fight against Ganon. While characters like Link fight Ganon on their Classic Mode routes, Zelda is the only character to fight Ganondorf before fighting Ganon, a Maxim Tomato will spawn after defeating Ganondorf.
After beating Ganon, the credits roll, and the song played is Hidden Mountain & Forest, and you then earn the Fighter Spirit for Zelda if you completed Classic Mode with her for the first time, her Fighter Spirit uses her artwork from A Link Between Worlds, which is the Zelda used for this game, I do like how each character from The Legend of Zelda series represent different timelines, because in previous Smash games, Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf each use their appearance from the most recent Zelda game at the time, an example is Brawl where they use their appearance from Twilight Princess, which carried over to Smash 4, and in this game, Zelda uses her appearance from A Link Between Worlds, Link being from Breath of the Wild, and Ganondorf uses his Ocarina of Time appearance.
