I take on the Goldenrod Gym, and this one is more challenging, the Trainers aren't too hard, while they use some Normal-type Pokémon, they do include other types of Pokémon, like Water, Ground, and a few other types. I put some Fighting-type Pokémon like Heracross and Hitmonlee, Kadabra was picked to give myself a good Pokémon to use, Magneton to take on the Water-types, Pineco has Explosion to help against the Gym Leader, and Donphan can take on the Pokémon in the second battle.
I will list each Trainers, and the nicknames of the Pokémon, with the species name of the Pokémon in brackets, as well as their held item.
Battle 1: Lass Lois
Teddiette (Teddiursa): Slash, Cut, Lick, Fury Swipes (PSNCureBerry)
Marillette (Marill): Surf, Double-Edge, Ice Punch, Tail Whip (Mystic Water)
Meowette (Meowth): Slash, Mud-Slap, Pay Day, Fury Swipes (Mint Berry)
Phanpette (Phanpy): Earthquake, Double-Edge, Rollout, Strength (Soft Sand)
Wagette (Poliwag): Surf, Blizzard, Body Slam, Psychic (PRZCureBerry)
Snubbette (Snubbull): Take Down, Roar, Ice Punch, ThunderPunch (Pink Bow)

Battle 2: Beauty Rita
Aipody (Aipom): Attract, Swift, Agility, Fury Swipes (Mint Berry)
Mareedy (Mareep): Attract, ThunderShock, Tackle, Light Screen (Magnet)
Digdy (Diglett): Attract, Magnitude, Growl, Slash (PRZCureBerry)
Ponydy (Ponyta): Attract, Ember, Stomp, Agility (Charcoal)
Remorady (Remoraid): Attract, Psybeam, Aurora Beam, BubbleBeam (Berry)
Sentdy (Sentret): Attract, Slam, Quick Attack, Amnesia (Bitter Berry)

Battle 3: Gym Leader Whitney
Miltank: Stomp, Earthquake, Rollout, Bide (PRZCureBerry)
Clefable: DoubleSlap, Psychic, Thunder, Fire Blast (Mint Berry)
Wigglytuff: Double-Edge, Psychic, ThunderPunch, Ice Punch (PSNCureBerry)
Gloom: Petal Dance, Sludge Bomb, SolarBeam, Giga Drain (Bitter Berry)
Dodrio: Drill Peck, Tri Attack, Fury Attack, Sleep Talk (Burnt Berry)
Stantler: Take Down, Psychic, Headbutt, Swift (Ice Berry)

As I have went over, the first two battles aren't too hard, the second battle has Pokémon that know the move Attract, and this is the generation Attract was introduced in, as this is the second generation of Pokémon, and this was the one that introduced genders, if a Pokémon is affected by Attract, they have a 50% chance of attacking, and if you combine that with paralysis, this will decrease the chances of a Pokémon attacking even further. Snubbull in the first battle has a Pink Bow, there was no Silk Scarf back then, the item that powered up Normal-type moves were the Pink Bow and the Polkadot Bow, both have the same effect, most of the Pokémon in the battle hold either a berry or an item that powers up a certain type.
The Gym Leader is a tough opponent, Whitney does use her Miltank in the battle, and she is a very infamous Gym Leader in the main series games, most players have found her to be a difficult Gym Leader to take on. Miltank does have Stomp and Rollout, and I did bring Heracross for this battle as it has Counter to send the damage back to Miltank. The rest of her Normal-types know Psychic, and she has Dodrio, which is part Flying-type to counter Fighting-type Pokémon, and Gloom, the only one that is not a Normal-type Pokémon, but it's there to counter the Rock-types that you try to wall her Normal-types with, Gloom does have the Bitter Berry to cure confusion after using Petal Dance.
