This is Saffron Gym in Round 2, and this one adds more difficulty than the last few Gyms, the Trainers have Pokémon of many different types, not only Psychic-types, or well, Fighting, Fire, and Poison for the first three Trainers. The team that I choose for this one is Kadabra, Seadra, Pinsir, Jolteon, Articuno, and Zapdos to help against most of the Pokémon in this Gym Tower.
I will list each Trainers, and the nicknames of the Pokémon, with the species name of the Pokémon in brackets.
Battle 1: Cueball
poliwrath (Poliwrath): Submission, Hyper Beam, Earthquake, Seismic Toss
primeape (Primeape): Fury Swipes, Submission, Counter, Dig
dewgong (Dewgong): Hyper Beam, Body Slam, Double-Edge, Rest
sandslash (Sandslash): Slash, Earthquake, Submission, Swift
aerodactyl (Aerodactyl): Fly, Hyper Beam, Dragon Rage, Sky Attack
rhydon (Rhydon): Horn Drill, Stomp, Body Slam, Earthquake

Battle 2: Burglar
Talar (Ninetales): Flamethrower, Body Slam, Confuse Ray, Bide
Weelar (Weezing): Fire Blast, Sludge, SmokeScreen, Toxic
Arcalar (Arcanine): Flamethrower, Toxic, Dragon Rage, Dig
Fablar (Clefable): Tri Attack, Ice Beam, Seismic Toss, Psychic
Champlar (Machamp): Earthquake, Submission, Seismic Toss, Fire Blast
Dashlar (Rapidash): Fire Spin, Horn Drill, Agility, Toxic

Battle 3: Medium
La-Pras (Lapras): Confuse Ray, Psychic, Toxic, Thunderbolt
Mag-Mar (Magmar): Confuse Ray, Fire Punch, Psychic, Bide
Eng-Arg (Gengar): Confuse Ray, Thunder, Night Shade, Bide
Gol-Bat (Golbat): Confuse Ray, Swift, Mega Drain, Screech
Licki-Tung (Lickitung): Supersonic, Screech, Earthquake, Ice Beam
Tent-Cruel (Tentacruel): Supersonic, Toxic, Barrier, Hydro Pump

Battle 4: Sabrina
Alakazam: Psychic, Dig, Recover, Reflect
Snorlax: Amnesia, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Rest
Mr. Mime: Light Screen, SolarBeam, Psychic, Thunder Wave
Hypno: Hypnosis, Mega Kick, Dream Eater, Meditate
Exeggutor: Leech Seed, Explosion, Toxic, Mega Drain
Wigglytuff: Thunderbolt, Seismic Toss, Body Slam, Ice Beam

While each Trainer tends to use Pokémon of a specific type, they add a bit more options to their teams, Cue Ball has some Fighting and Rock-type Pokémon on his team, Burglar uses Fire-types, but he has the Poison-type Weezing, the Normal-type Clefable, and the Fighting-type Machamp on his team, and that Arcanine is a challenging opponent without the right counters, I found myself relying on Kadabra's Recover and waiting for Arcanine to be fully paralyzed to stand a good chance against it. Medium has Lapras, Magmar, and Lickitung which are the only ones that are not Ghost-type Pokémon, they do have moves to confuse the opponent. Sabrina has two Normal-type Pokémon along with her team of Psychic-type Pokémon, Snorlax has Amnesia and Rest, and both Normal-types have Thunderbolt and Ice Beam. Her Hypno isn't too hard as Dream Eater is its only Psychic-type move, but it can use Meditate to make Mega Kick hit harder, and Exeggutor has Explosion to get in some huge damage if it can get that off. Alakazam is what you would expect from Psychic-types back then, it has Psychic to hit very hard, and it can use Reflect to decrease damage from Physical moves, and Recover to heal off the damage, all that is missing is Thunder Wave, Dig is a randomly placed move coming from Alakazam's much lower Attack stat, but it's there to take on opposing Psychic-type Pokémon.
