A video showing two easy battles.

You'd expect a little more from Wishiwashi, the Totem boss of Brooklet Hill. Before hitting lv. 20, its base stats are the worst the series has seen yet, with lower BST than Sunkern, but as soon as it hits lv. 20, it transforms into the school form as long as it has 25% of its max HP at the start of the turn. Its stats are monstrous now - same HP and even lower speed than the normal form, but with 140 base atk / sp. atk, 130 def and 135 sp. def. Its BST is now comparable to some mega evolutions and even better than pseudo-legendaries and some actual legends.

Using Wishiwashi in your team gives you a break weapon to use for the rest of the game as long as you can get to lv. 20 painlessly, but expectations of a challenging battle aren't met when it comes to the Totem battle.

Wishiwashi's sole attacking move, Water Gun, can still dent things running off 140 sp. atk and in permanent rain, but it is the only offensive move it happens to run. Anything with Water Absorb (SOS-battle Dewpider) or, more accessibly, a Dry Skin Paras can just sit there and not expect Wishiwashi to do anything menacing.

Wishiwashi's minions are a bit more threatening. The weak Wishiwashi has Feint Attack, which isn't doing much with 20 base attack, but if it summons a minion while severely damaged (~60% HP and under) it can get aid from an Alomomola, who has Double Slap as well as Heal Pulse to keep the tankish boss alive.

Our solution is pretty simple - not let Wishiwashi summon Alomomola by taking it out before the first minion. Anything works for offence, but I've found Fury Cutter to be most effective as it gets to 160 base power on the 3rd turn it is used. Getting growled can really slow us down, so Poisonpowder is used beforehand to have a stable source of damage on the boss.

The other recording shows the fight against Kukui, Hau and Gladion. Since Kukui's Rockruff tends to Protect, the weakest link to KO to finish the battle immediately on turn 1 is Hau's Torracat. At this point, Water Bubble!Dewpider using Scald is quite a nuke in spite of being unevolved, as is its evolution which can be caught a little later in Malie Park on the next island.
