This is my 100th Surprise Trade video, as it has been 100 weeks since I started Surprise Trade for Sword & Shield, and at first I considered choosing the Pokémon for this week, but I decided to leave it to the list randomizer, and for this week, I got Electrike, a Pokémon that I do quite like, so it is good to get one of my favourite Gen 3 Pokémon for the 100th Surprise Trade video.
I usually breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Timid for the Nature, as Electrike's best stats are Speed and Special Attack, well they are both equal, but I would prefer Timid so that it can get extra Speed, and they do have Lightning Rod, because while Static is nice when playing through the game, Lightning Rod is the more preferred Ability, and I didn't bother with the Hidden Ability of Minus, it's not like Manectric is that commonly used in Double Battles, and even if it was, Lightning Rod is the Ability you want.
As with Electrike's Egg Moves, in Sword & Shield, it has Headbutt, Curse, Spark, and Switcheroo, but in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it can get even more moves, it can get Electro Ball, Eerie Impulse, Crunch, Discharge, Uproar, and the Elemental Fangs, I will list which parents in the Field Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Curse: Torkoal
Headbutt: Zigzagoon, G-Zigzagoon, Linoone, G-Linoone, Buneary, Lopunny, Darumaka, G-Darumaka, Darmanitan, G-Darmanitan, Scraggy, Scrafty, Scorbunny, Raboot, Cinderace, Wooloo, Dubwool, Silicobra, Sandaconda, Obstagoon, Eiscue
Spark: Pikachu, Raichu, A-Raichu, Shinx, Luxio, Luxray, Emolga, Togedemaru, Yamper, Boltund, Morpeko
Switcheroo: Persian, A-Persian, Linoone, G-Linoone, Obstagoon

Those are its Egg Moves in Sword & Shield, for what moves you want on breed on Electrike in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, I would recommend Eerie Impulse, Electro Ball, Ice Fang, and Switcheroo, and Electrike does get Discharge and Thunder Fang through level up, and its evolved form Manectric can relearn Fire Fang. For Eerie Impulse, it can get it from Smeargle, which can learn it through Sketch, it can learn Electro Ball from Pikachu, Mareep, and Pachirisu, and it learns Ice Fang from a variety of Pokémon, like Floatzel, Hippowdon, Mamoswine, and many others.
Next is Electrike's level up moves, it can learn Tackle, Thunder Wave, Leer, Howl, Quick Attack, Shock Wave, Bite, Thunder Fang, Roar, Discharge, Crunch, Wild Charge, and Thunder. Its evolved form Manectric can relearn Fire Fang, and it can learn Electric Terrain.
Next are TMs and TRs, I will be going over what Manectric learns in Sword & Shield, it can get Light Screen, Thief, Swift, Ice Fang, Volt Switch, Snarl, and Eerie Impulse, and for TRs, it can learn Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Agility, Iron Tail, Hyper Voice, Crunch, Overheat, Electro Ball, and Psychic Fangs, and it can get Rising Voltage for its Tutor move.
In previous generations, Manectric had a Mega Evolution which had Intimidate, so it would switch in against an Electric-type move with Lightning Rod, then after Mega Evolution, it can sweep teams with its Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. For this game, Manectric lost Mega Evolution, which has affected its performance in battle, and as for Pokémon that get Lightning Rod, Raichu tends to be used more in Double Battles.
As for what Manectric can get, Thunderbolt and Flamethrower are its main moves, it can use Switcheroo to give its Choice Scarf to its opponent, and for the final move, Volt Switch is the best it can get. As with Double Battles, Manectric can use Snarl to lower the opponent's Special Attack, and that is about it, there are a lot of better Electric-type Pokémon to use in online battles, it's not that Manectric is bad or anything, it's just outclassed, you can use it if you want, it is one of my favourite Pokémon from Gen 3, which was the generation that introduced most of my favourite Pokémon.
It was good that Electrike ended up being the Pokémon chosen for week 100 of Surprise Trade, as it is a Pokémon introduced in Generation 3, which is my favourite generation, and Manectric is one of my favourite Pokémon from Gen 3, so it was good that the list randomizer picked a Pokémon that I like for the 100th Surprise Trade video.
