I am playing Classic Mode with Lucas, and how the Classic Mode routes will be handled is that I will randomize a list to decide who the next character that I play as, and the playlist for my Classic Mode videos will be in order of how the fighters are displayed on the roster. Lucas's Classic Mode route is Magic, Sacred Powers, and PSI!, so all of Lucas's opponents are characters that use magic or psychic powers, and another bit of trivia is that all of the stages that appear in Lucas's Classic Mode route are stages that are from Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U, which is an interesting detail, as Lucas was not in the base game for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U, and he was a DLC character in those games.
To unlock Lucas, there are many different ways, the first one is through Vs. Matches, where Lucas is the 36th character to be unlocked, and he is the 7th character to be unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Kirby or anyone in his unlock tree after Corrin.
Going over Lucas's Classic Mode route, in Round 1, you fight Ness on Magicant. Then in Round 2, you fight both male and female Robin on Arena Ferox, in Round 3, your next opponent is Rosalina & Luma, they are fought on Mario Galaxy. Then in Round 4, your opponent is Giant Palutena, and the stage is Palutena's Temple on Omega Form, then you fight Bayonetta in Round 5, she is fought on Umbra Clock Tower. Then in Round 6, your opponent is Mewtwo, and the stage is Kalos Pokémon League.
Then we have the Bonus Stage, and your final opponent is Master Hand, or if you are playing on Intensity 7.0 or higher, you fight Crazy Hand as well, and this one takes place on Final Destination, while technically Final Destination has been in every Smash game except 64 where it only appeared when you fight Master Hand in 1 Player mode in Smash 64, the variant from this game is used.
Then we get the credits, which plays Mother 3 Love Theme when you complete Classic Mode with Lucas, and you earn the Fighter Spirit for Lucas, which uses his sprite from Mother 3, Lucas is one of two playable characters to use their sprite as their Fighter Spirit, the other being Ice Climbers. I do also the detail with Lucas where he was a starter character in Brawl, a DLC character in Smash 4, and an unlockable character in Ultimate, Lucas is the only character to go through all three of them, because there are some characters that started as unlockable characters and become starter characters, like Ness and Captain Falcon from 64 to Melee, and Wario was a starter character in Brawl, and he was an unlockable character in Smash 4.
