Post Kickstarter DaemonClaw Update 17: MegaDrive version Close to Gold, and Happy New Year!
TL;DW
All art for the Megadrive is now final, so we're within range of getting it to gold (meaning ready to actually send to the the cartridge producers) within a matter of weeks. To ensure the highest quality we can we'll be releasing a final test build to those Kickstarter backers who volunteer to be testers. So backers, please keep an eye out for a follow-up email or Kickstart Update post with information for how to play this final Kickstarter test build.
For the Neo Geo, the programmer continues to make rapid progress, and recently finished round two of iterating on the second playable character with us, so now that the core move set and magical attacks are well worked out, Mike and Corey will be able to start refining the WIP art and animations for the character soon.
For the PC, progress continued to be made on getting in all the features and functionality of the final boss fight, but Mike still has a lot of work to do to get it to be fully playable and polished for standard arcade mode with Elrik, after which point he'll begin adding the difficulty levels, the second playable character for PC (which is totally different from the second character for Megadrive or from Neo Geo) , and then Tag Team mode.
Corey and Mike will also start laying out the actual pages for the Kickstarter ad-on DaemonClaw art book this week.
