Pro Rally 2001 (2000) - Every PC Rally Game

Despite the name, this game came out in the year 2000! It does the same sort of photo-realistic-textures-slapped-on-cars approach as Mobil 1 Rally Championship, but not as well.
The game only works for me with the default keyboard controls, which aren't very comfortable or helpful; if I try a controller the game crashes redefining keys, hence the not-very-smooth driving technique! It's also quite a pain to install and get it working in the first place!
The game features loads of locations, but each only has 2 stages (each are unique though, no reused roads here). The weather/time-of-day is pre-baked though.
The Audi clip here looks odd with a black map; that's because you can load the Rally School stages into the game, which I did here, as this stage is usually run the other way around in a thunderstorm!
The dust effect is pretty incredible for a year 2000 game though, with huge rooster tails of dust on some stages. Overall, could have been better.
Random fact: early in development, this game was called Rally Racing Simulation, and screenshots showed a Subaru Impreza. I suspect there were numerous licensing issues as development went on, especially as the voiceover notably has the words "Monte Carlo" cut out on the description of the French stages!
Side-note: there's a Sony Limited Edition of this game, but it's really just a 3 stage demo, where one of the cars is replaced with a fake brand car advertising Sony Recording Media (CD-R and CD-RW)!
