Delivered at Casual Connect Eastern Europe, November 2014

Games involve a great deal of creativity in many different areas, from powerful rendering software to the “look and feel” of the game, to the name of the game. Unfortunately, many developers invest hours of their time and money to develop a new game, only to find that it has been copied, partly or completely, by a competitor. In this talk, D'vorah Graeser reviews the “property of ideas” or intellectual property, discussing patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets, with a comparison of the law and practice in the US and Europe. Her talk will enable you to devise cost-effective strategies for protecting your valuable games and game ideas.
