This is something that, as a kid playing this back in 1998 and with the use of the Xploder cheat device that I had, I discovered and always remembered. You can play the US version of the game in PAL with the use of a Xploder/Gameshark code that exists for the PAL version. I had been wanting to show this code off for a long time.

On the bright surface, it may look like I've romhacked the game, but the fact that this code actually allows you to have (at least most if not all the) menus and so on resemble those of the US version, and to have the NSX and Integra Acura-branded rather than Honda-branded (except that the NSX LM Edition still has Honda decals on), is quite astounding. Granted, only a few of the imperial units are used in the menus, whereas speed and distance are still measured in kilometers and meters respectively, rather than miles. For those in the UK looking forward to play the game with speed measured in miles with this Gameshark code enabled, don't get too excited. Perhaps there is a way to change the speed readout from kilometers to miles in the PAL version, and vice versa in the US NTSC version, like how codes for that have been discovered in GT2, but I haven't been able to find any information regarding this. I have seen some footage of players playing the US NTSC version with speed measured in kilometers, but I am still puzzled as to how you can enable them.

The codes to activate it:

Gameshark: 3004DDA4 0000
Xploder: 37F237DA 3535
