11Kalisto Entertainment horror action game Nightmare Creatures (1998) needs no further introduction. The Game was a hit on consoles such as PS1 and N64. Fortunately a Windows PC port wasn't missed in time and it was one of the best port featuring 3Dfx Glide API as well as Direct3D. For simplicity, the 3Dfx Glide version was chosen for demo with high quality upscale on MSAA 4x and stunning sRGB visuals to show off the MacBook Air retina display in vibrant colors, just as how the Game would be played. For console port, QEMU USB Gamepad delivers console-like game experience on any favorite game controllers of one's choice, be it wired, wireless or Bluetooth connectivity in seamless manner. It matters for such action game so that the MacBook Air keyboard isn't being abused for executing those combo moves in the Game.
The Game played in pristine condition with additional 3Dfx patch that enables the Glide renderer. No other fans' mods or no-CD crack ever required. The retailed CD version comes with spooky CD-audio tracks to enhance the game horrific experience, especially those playing in the mid of howling nights.
QEMU featuring qemu-3dfx is the only emulation solution to play 3Dfx Glide Windows games on Apple Silicon. The other "Trash"Boxes or "JUNK_PC"em, while taunting Voodoo emulation, remain lost in their CPU-hogging, bugs-ridden implementation, especially on ARM64 or even x86_64. They are simply the JOKES for playing any Windows games in 3D acceleration.
