Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction Part 4: Whip it Good
So, after restarting the Factory and getting the last few remaining Leviathan Souls that were on the other side of the map, we get a ride from the really shady Smuggler. Not really sure if we should trust this dude since his Parrot did tell him to sell out Kidneys the second we met them. Regardless, we needed a ride and they were the only thing we could find in such a short notice. Although, I’m not too sold on their services considering how they treated on the ride. Well, I shouldn’t complain too much since they did get us to our next destination. Within this world, we get a rather interesting version of the Whip (A common weapon that has been in most, if not, all the R&C games). Usually when I think of the whip, it’s usually just to kill large groups of smaller enemies since it never really did much damage to the bigger ones but, in this game, it seems as though the whip is used to kill enemies with Shields. Apparently, there are better weapons to use against enemies with shields (such as the whip) and the game loves to tell you that. I also found that certain weapons are less effective against certain enemies. For example, using a shock-based weapon against an Electrified enemy does less damage. At the time though, I thought “Electrified” was a status effect that I caused on the enemy (Too Many RPGS apparently) and I thought it was cool that the weapons could inflict a status effect (I think, for the most part, there was a poison effect you could give weapons in a previous game so I thought they had expanded on that). Turns out that enemies who are Electrified just have higher resistances; I don’t realize that until much later though so, I do apologize.
