Anybody remember the FFX-2 low level challenge I started a while ago?
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A28F9981DC9F9DC7

I made a stupid mistake there once and though I have plenty of saves to go back and do it properly, I'd spent around 15 hours doing various things since then, many of them annoying to the point I wouldn't awfully want to get back to them again. The mistake was not finding ALL the musicians in Macalania Woods in Chapter 2 and only finding the two big ones necessary to complete the mission. This deprived me of a special Garment Grid that's the best you can get for boosting speed. And since there will be missions later where we will want speed, not health and defences, to give the party a way of surviving, this is a pretty vital loss.

I didn't want to go back several saves to do the most annoying sidequests yet again (tower calibrating x30, yuck), so I figured I'd restart the whole thing and do it from scratch.

There are some things I intend to change. One is level distribution. You may remember (or read in the old intro vid description) that there are many ways of distributing experience in an LLG without a New Game Plus and Minerva's Plate / Pointless status used on the surviving girl(s).

One is keeping two girls at lv. 1 and raising one to lv. 9, giving her all the experience that's unavoidable. The second one is arranging it more evenly to ensure girls are closer to one another in levels. My earlier attempt had YRP at levels 4, 5 and 6 respectively. Sailor pointed out that there was a different way of arranging the exp gain to keep one of the girls at lv. 1, not 4. While this wasn't a surprise, because my early calculations did show this opportunity, I didn't agree that there was much logic in that; I thought, why not just elevate one girl to lv. 9 for the best possible average? But if I give one girl 3 levels too many, why don't I just level everybody to lv. 6 so that there's no difference in level?

On this playthrough, Yuna will go to lv. 6, Paine will level up until she's lv. 5 and Rikku will stay at lv. 1 (what a burden to the party for the whole challenge, huh). The party average will be 4. The lowest possible party average is 3,(66); however, a girl at lv. 9 equipped properly can very easily solo the main bosses. Not fun.

The exp distribution on this run is as precise as it gets. Both Yuna and Paine will have a single digit number to go to the next level. btw, a 6-5-1 game is only possible if Yuna is lv. 6, Paine is lv. 5 and Rikku stays at the first level. The girls do have different figures for levelling up.

The video is self-explanatory, I guess, I show all the important stuff. I didn't equip Rikku and Paine with any accessories because they need to die as swiftly as possible for Yuna to beat the boss alone. The Stop status is annoying, but we recover from it quickly enough.
