Retro World Expo 2022 + new Nintendo DS games
61I recently attended the retro video gaming convention, Retro World Expo, in Hartford CT. Although Retro World Expo puts in a decent effort for things to do with your admission, including live wrestling, tons of gaming consoles and live panels, it seems that buying stuff seems to be the dominant activity, which struck me as kind of weird weird. Just show up and buy some stuff! That’s like, 80% of the thing!
Conventions are also a little weird for me personally because I often find it difficult to integrate myself into a communal space, even communal spaces where I technically belong. I have no problem contributing to a community (such as making these videos!) but I’m bad at making myself at home. I admit, I get a little navel gazey in the video about this.
I also share a handful of Nintendo DS games I bought while at the convention, including Carcassonne, a game I’ve long wanted.
