Rewind (by Stubborn Horse Studios)
Achievement: Who Was Clone
Level 3-5 (Assembly Line), 3-6 (Distraction)

Rewind is a game of time manipulation and self-cooperation. I'd actually had my eye on this game for a while, so when it got discounted during the recent Steam Summer Sale... I just had to pick it up. =)

In Rewind, you have a "rewind" device that can be used to undo small mistakes (like a missed jump), but more significantly, it can also be used to create what are basically time-shifted clones of yourself. So by performing actions and rewinding to the beginning of a puzzle, you can cooperate with your past self (or selves) to successfully get to the exit! ...or not-so-successfully, depending upon whether you did the right things at the right times when you were your past self. =)

Oh, speaking of "right thing at the right time", I really liked that Rewind actually provides you with some useful tools to help you coordinate with your other selves. =) The timer in the lower left corner shows how much time has passed since the beginning of the rewind event... so, since every clone starts at the same time, this is actually extremely useful for coordinating with both past and future selves (for example, if as the first clone, you step on a button at exactly 15s, then step off off it at exactly 20s... when you play a future clone, you can coordinate your actions quite easily, just by keeping an eye on the timer)! You can also watch the real-time progress of past clones via the monitors on the rewind device... though personally, I found the timer in the corner to be a lot more useful. =)

So anyway, I had a lot of fun playing through Rewind, so I thought I'd record and upload some videos! Hope you enjoy!

Achievement: Who Was Clone
Description: Complete a 3 clone puzzle with 2.

I found two levels where this achievement is possible, and since they were conveniently right next to each other, I decided to record both of them for this video. If you're trying for the achievement, though, you only have to do one of them, of course. =)

Level 3-5 (Ira, Assembly Line) is probably the easier of the two, due to the fact that you don't have to worry about an enemy... just jumps. And if do you miss one of the jumps, you can just do an undo-rewind and try the jump again immediately. ^^

Level 3-6 (Ira, Distraction) is a little trickier, due to the fact that you have to distract the enemy without giving it enough time to lock on and shoot you (or your clone). I don't remember exactly what I did the first time I managed this... but I do remember it was pretty difficult to duplicate. =p After some testing, though, I found the method I used in this video, which IMO is a lot easier to do (if the enemy is far enough around the corner, you can interrupt the lock-on twice... once with the corner itself, and once with the pillar against the wall). =)

EDIT (2016/Jul/12): Whoops, just realized that you don't actually need to pick up the gun in 3-6. ^^; I guess working on Level 6-7 (for "There Can Be Only One") at the same time as these two levels somehow got me in the mindset of going after the gun (the last clone in 6-7 needs to have the gun to finish the level). ^^;; So, a much simpler 2-clone solution for 3-6 is just to have the second clone follow the same path as the first, then slip through the door when it opens. ^^ Or you can go for the gun, like in this video. Your choice. =)
