The funeral of Corporal Michael John Thacker has taken place.

He was serving with 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh and part of a Fire Support Group manning an observation post in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province when he was hit by small arms fire on 1st June.

His funeral was held at Coventry Cathedral.
