Amakusa is the boss in the game. In this version of the game, Amakusa is immediately selectable, however he cannot be used in 1P mode.

===== About Genesis SS1 =====
This is a very good port of Samurai Shodown 1 - better than the SNES version. The sprites are large and bold, and the use of the colour palette is superbly implemented, considering the Genesis' limitations of on-screen colours.
The reason why the character's sprites are larger than the SNES ones is because of Earthquake being removed from this game. Removing him means all the other character's sprites can be as large as possible without having to cater proportions to Earthquake. He is effectively semi-replaced by Amakusa.
