Golden Axe 3 [Genesis] - play as the Bosses!
This is a demonstration of controlling the boss enemy characters in Golden Axe III for the Genesis / Mega Drive. Read on below for more information...
This is demonstration of the boss enemy characters being controlled by Player 2. A clever individual has managed to come up with a method that allows ALL of the enemy characters in this game to be controlled like a normal player character, which means Player 1 can walk through the game and have Player 2 control ANY enemy that appears!!
This is quite an amazing trick considering it's a scrolling fighter - enemy characters are usually not controllable like a normal character at all in these kind of games. Maybe Sega originally intended to have all of the enemy characters selectable in VS Mode perhaps? I know that the Eagle boss is the only 'enemy' character who is playable in VS Mode.
I've split the video into 5 sections:
-- The 1st section demonstrates the the knight
-- The 2nd section demonstrates the mallet men
-- The 3rd section demonstrates the minotoaurs
-- The 4th section demonstrates the eagle
-- The 5th section demonstrates the final boss, Prince of Darkness
===== Additional Information =====
---- Some of the enemy characters will freeze the game if you perform the B+C (Strike+Jump) move.
---- The only characters you can't control are the little thieves/elves.
---- When controlling a boss enemy character, for some you can just walk off the screen and the game can progress.
---- When controlling an enemy character, their speed of walking properties is very fast. This is obviously because they're not intended to be controlled by a human player.
---- Obviously under human control, you cannot do 'walking back' motions with them.
