Rules so far:
-No switching to the Dog in an active combat area unless absolutely necessary
-Dog must not be dropped to 0 HPs
-Pixie Dust, Wings, and Call Beads are not allowed
-Alchemy restrictions to be determined
-Bone Crusher banned after Thraxx; all other Swords banned
-Horn Spear only allowed for a case of Verminator or for demonstration purposes; all other Spears banned other than Bronze Spear for throwing puzzle switches
-Bazooka is banned
-All Collars other than Leather Collar banned
-Jade Disc, Moxa Stick, and Chocobo Egg banned for Antiqua and Gothica until Mungola
-Armor Polish banned for Antiqua until Oglin Caves
-Most rules disabled for convenience in non-threatening areas


Pretty much a filler episode where we get the Gauge from the Volcano Slopes then check up on Fire Eyes, who is A-OK and does respond to an actually sound observation by the Boy about how there was a robot butler involved. Gosh, sounds like we might have a sophisticated red herring, don't it. I've been wary of that possibility when Roger Retinz in Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice rolled around, that's for sure.

I will confess myself not having a high opinion of RPGs relying on level up systems and elemental damage spells. I did cover in the last part how Secret of Evermore actually gets the former right in this segment. I cover about the elemental damage spells because Secret of Evermore is basically guilty of Franchile Original Sin with them, since RPGs in general are expecting players to use what works best according to the opposing monsters, when Secret of Evermore doesn't provide any such damage boosts. It still works out well enough though, given it is from the 90s. But I may as well say something when I still would prefer more unique traits from different elements like what Lost Magic for the Nintendo DS tried.
