This is Serious Sam II with EAX and OpenAL Soft's HRTF through DSOAL [IRC_1037 tables]. While Serious Sam II is far from being the best game in the series, its 3D positional audio more than makes up for its other shortcomings. You get a full sense of spatial awareness when enemies surround you. I guess Croteam was making up for the fact that the first two Serious Sam games only used mono output even with hardware acceleration. The spatialized audio accuracy is the same with either the OpenAL or DirectSound3D API, but you might as well play with DSOAL and DS3D for the full experience. The EAX reverb adds a lot of atmosphere to the game that's missing in the later entries (which only use reverb with XAudio2 or their built-in OpenAL32.dll). Some occlusion would've helped too, but I'm not complaining.
