This is Bionic Commando 2009 with OpenAL Soft's HRTF [IRC_1037 tables]. As a Diesel engine game, it requires OpenAL Soft 1.20.0 or higher to work correctly without distorted audio. Bionic Commando 2009 is one of the most underrated games ever made. It was trashed by critics and players alike at the time, but it feels remarkably fresh in 2020 compared to its clunky, sepia-toned, cover-based contemporaries. If Bionic Commando had been released in the post-Wolfenstein: The New Order climate without the gritty, idiotic storyline and lame Spencer redesign, then it would've been a smash-hit for its fast, skill-based gameplay.

I waited a long time for kcat to fix the issues with OpenAL Soft and the Diesel engine, and I can say it was well worth the wait. The spatialized audio adds a ton of atmosphere and immersion to an already amazing game. The fights with the mech suits and flying robots are so much more dynamic when you can hear them chasing you with binaural audio. For once, I chopped the video up because the original footage was nearly an hour long. Quite a lot of it was redundant and didn't show off the 3D audio well. I wanted more of the Gardens, but there was a fight where the audio peaked too loud and I didn't want to use a volume limiter that would distort the HRTF.
