I know this week's update was a little late, but I hope it was worth it. This is Doom Eternal with HeSuVi 7.1 virtual surround sound [irc37.wav]. The positional audio quality is more or less the same as in the previous game. The sound mixing is much better this time around, though. I'm a bit disappointed that there's no native Dolby Atmos support, but that's AAA game devs for you. Just look at the recent Resident Evil 3 demo for more proof.

Doom Eternal...I have mixed feelings on. I obviously haven't beaten the game yet, but so far it's a mix of well-executed and less-than-stellar ideas. You're likely already aware of the most common complaint: no ammo. The game forces you to use the chainsaw every 2 minutes to refill all your ammo, which maxes out at the same level that one ammo upgrade would've given you in 2016 (at least for the shotgun). The idea was to make players use every tool in their arsenal. In reality, it feels like Eternal is actively limiting your fun as opposed to the free reign you had in 2016. It doesn't help that nearly every fun weapon combo from 2016 was nerfed or replaced with an infinitely-worse substitute.

There's more hotkeys to memorize than fucking Overwatch, and it's just to get ammo and armor that designers would've placed inside the levels back in Doom 2016.
