This fight is a damage race from beginning to end.

Futo is about the same as before (she's fast, has Cup stacking, her Cup buff as well as Shredder, which she can still use at random). Futo also still has her self-heal except it's a team heal in this fight. Futo needs to die IMMEDIATELY.

Miko and Kokoro are rather threatening, especially once Futo is dead. Technically, all enemy characters (including Futo) get more moves and more difficult the more members you KO, but I always killed Futo first (I refused to deal with random Shredders and team heals). Read the Touhou Wiki if you want to know about the AI's behavior in more detail.

Miko mostly uses SPI attacks (beware her very dangerous "Shining Arrows from the Sky" move) though she has a few other tricks up her sleeve (including some DRK attacks and stuff like Half Moon Slash, Black Universe, Destroy Magic and Scythe of Calamity). With Futo down, she gains the ability to buff herself before every action. Debuffs, buff removal and buffing your own team's defenses will help here.

Kokoro is not as dangerous as Miko, but still shouldn't be underestimated. Though her attacks aren't as outright debilitating as Miko's, she complicates things by including WND and NTR element attacks into the mix. Invigorated Kagura Lion also ex-buffs Kokoro via its Fighting Spirit effect. Don't give her a chance to build it up too high.

As far as weaknesses go, all three characters are weak to PHY. Being honest, I didn't find this weakness to be super abusable. The Wiki mentions Severing Flash is good for this fight but it felt like trash on Suwako (even with her post-awakening, Hibernation skill). MYS ended up being a better element to target: while Futo and Kokoro are only neutral to it, Miko (who has the most HP) is definitely weak to it. All three are also susceptible to PSN (technically, Miko and Futo are weak, while Kokoro is neutral) but this fight moves so fast that it's not super useful.

I wasn't in the mood to grind levels or items from the Infinite Corridor again, so I went with a cheesy opening strat with Marisa (I swear though, the next two Shadow fights will be “for real”/not cheesed). Anyway, I did have to give Marisa some items and Subclass her as Gambler, but it let me bypass Futo and seriously damage the other two, so she did her job well. Futo is just too annoying to leave alive in this fight. Her ability to undo all progress via a single heal or use of Shredder is stupid. She shouldn't be able to use either skill until one of her teammates die IMO...

I also brought in Renko and Reimu just for this fight. Renko was there purely to buff the front row on Turn 1. I initially used Sanae for the job, but Sanae would be too battered by the time I brought in Kanako. Renko could also buff Chen and Aya's speed, allowing them to swap in tankier characters before the Taoists could get their first turn. Reimu was brought in because I thought her SPI-reducing passive would help. I ended up not using her at all.

I'm gonna mention it now: Kokoro was a complete pain for my team and it was specifically because of one move: Razor Leaf Dance. That attack killed Kanako so many times and ruined so many good runs. I even tried having Kanako Subclass as an Elementalist, just so she could have higher NTR resistance. It didn't work. That attack was just as much of a run killer as Miko's Shining Arrows.

In hindsight, there's a lot I could have done better. Yukari has that "uses DEF + MND average for a character's weaker defending element" passive right? I should have probably had her on the front lines with a defensive build, since Miko and Kokoro seem to target both. I should have also had Miko as a Strategist instead of Elementalist. And instead of Reimu, I'd have gone with, idk, Cirno? Alice? Or maybe just Rinnosuke with a Violet Green Rupee to increase the rewards.
