Full game longplay of Shadow of Memories, PS2 PAL version, (NTSC is called Shadow of Destiny), played in pcsx2 in a 1620p internal resolution and hacked to run in a real widescreen.
Here I achieved the A ending, which I feel is the best, or the most "good", as everyone basically gets what they deserve, whether good or bad. Happiness or despair.
Shadow of Memories is a Mystery adventure game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami. Originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001, it was later ported to Xbox (which is only released in Europe) and Microsoft Windows in 2002. A PlayStation Portable version was released on October 1, 2009 in Japan and on January 26, 2010 in North America.
The objective of Shadow of Memories is to guide player character Eike Kusch through the fictional German town of Lebensbaum (Life's Tree) as he travels through time to prevent and unmask his murderer. The game takes place in three parts: a prologue, eight chapters, and an epilogue.
Great little game, plot wise. Travelling in time to save yourself from dying, and therefore making some serous shit in the present/future is pretty brillkiant idea for a game. It is a completely low budget game though, with graphics very simplistic and low detail. It's more of a "idea" game, than some technical masterpiece released in a very early PS2 lifecycle. Overall, a clunky, janky japanese title, that is... actually very likeable to someone with an aversion to typical japanese esthetics and style. That would be me. Solid 7,5/10, mostly for an idea and plot. Big minus for jankiness, simplicity, and graphics. But I wouldn't be surprised to hear they were all intended like that. :))
