Shining Force II (Part 2--Ancient Tower)
4Story: After discovering that an illness has overcome King Granseal, Bowie (Dai) and his classmates are appointed on the spot to assist Sir Astral to the Ancient Tower. Dai has a good feeling about the narrow pathway behind the tower, discovering some Mithril in an arbitrary location. Astral's strange feeling about the tower is confirmed, as Gizmos reveal themselves.
Battle 1: Gizmo x6
Strategy: Nothing special. Keep Sarah from being preyed upon, try to engage one enemy at a time.
Goal: Sustain no casualties, keep EXP as even as possible.
It's easy to let Sarah fall behind in terms of levels, as she can only cure three times in this fight. Heal 1 takes 3 MP and she only has 10 MP to start. With a max EXP allowance of 30-45 from heals, she has to get a little melee in. Fortunately, she seems to hit harder than Chester, which is embarrassing.
I notice I fidget about in this fight a bit, mainly because part of me wants to charge ahead. Most of the time, if the enemy can reach me and attack, they will. Careful positioning will bring one or two Gizmos at a time to me without inciting chaos.
9:15 -- it could be me, but the higher difficulty may raise enemy evasion and critical hit rate.
9:42 -- counter attacks happen pretty infrequently, so I welcome them. :3
11:42 -- Sarah gets two turns back-to-back? I've never had that happen.
