4Shipping Policies in Odoo Inventory
Odoo Inventory provides flexible shipping policy options to manage your delivery processes effectively. You can choose between two primary policies:
1. Ship All Products at Once:
Suitable for: Customers who prefer receiving all ordered items in a single shipment.
Process: Delivery orders are only created and processed when all products in the order are available in stock.
Benefits: Reduces shipping costs and administrative overhead by consolidating multiple shipments into one.
2. Ship Products as Soon as Available, with Backorders:
Suitable for: Customers who need immediate delivery of available items, even if other items are out of stock.
Process: Delivery orders are created for available products immediately, and backorders are created for out-of-stock items.
Benefits: Improves customer satisfaction by delivering available products promptly, while managing backorders efficiently.
Configuring Shipping Policies in Odoo:
Access Settings:
Go to Inventory app.
Click on Configuration and then Settings.
Select Picking Policy:
In the Operations tab, find the Picking Policy section.
Choose the desired policy from the dropdown menu.
