When it comes to horror games, you can’t get much more classic than Silent Hill 2. It wasn’t the first game in the series, but it is still considered by many to be the best one. That makes it the perfect choice to kick off our annual October run of spooky videos!

In this one, we’re diving into the symbolism found throughout Silent Hill 2. Protagonist James Sunderland has secrets, and every character he meets, enemy he faces, and environment he explores represents that dark past. Ultimately, that leads to one of several endings that can encapsulate everything that James has been through.

If you’re looking to play Silent Hill 2 these days, you have your work cut out for you. Original PS2 discs are out there, and the same goes for the Silent Hill HD Collection on PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version is very hard to come by, but if those Silent Hill 2 remake rumors turn out to be true, we might have a totally new way to experience the game soon.
