How God Of War Grew Up
God of War (2018) is a masterpiece. It incorporates years of history yet manages to stand on its own. It tells a much more mature story than the previous games, and it took a lot of deliberate design choices to make that happen.
The team at Sony Santa Monica had to create a world, a combat system, and a family dynamic that drove its grown-up story forward. We dive into all three of those design aspects in this video. We didn’t even touch on the technical marvel of the whole game being a single, unbroken camera shot.
You can play God of War on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or PC. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, then it’s free for you on PS5 through the PS+ Collection. There are plenty of ways to play, and we definitely recommend that you do!
