A smorgasbord of recent glitches and tricks part one.

I: skipping Alex's Mom. It's such a funny concept it almost deserved its own video, but sadly as a skip it is not too useful. You basically never meet Mom, yet the door to the basement is open, allowing you to continue the game. If you enter the knife melee stance and leave it, Alex takes steps forward even next to drops where he is otherwise immobile, making this skip possible.

II: a new variation to the delayed pick-up trick here at Home. After having activated the flashlight scene in a delayed way, you can browse the map by pressing X, causing the game to freeze (or at the very least softlock).

III: If you target with a gun and hold down R1 and then examine some text, Alex bends down unnaturally low while still targeting with his gun. During this state you're extra sensitive to climbing on top of collision due to your odd angle, but probably not by enough that it would come in handy anywhere. The glitch fixes if you stop targeting or try to aim to a direction.

IV: you can enter Dr. Fitch's office early (in a very simple way too: just examine the locked door and target with a gun afterwards - you'll automatically sink into the door). But there's almost nothing loaded in there. Some sightseeing ensues.

V: this was never shown on video that well before, so here's a good look at the stylish "spring-loaded weapons" glitch. Right before you enter the weapon-menu, quick switch weapons. This causes Alex to become unarmed. If you try to quick-switch weapons again, they only momentarily pop up in Alex's hand before they disappear. It's almost as if Alex has a spring-loaded blade or a gun in his sleeve, a la assassins from Assassin's Creed - unfortunately unlike the assassins, he is completely powerless during this glitch and only places himself in grave danger for the petty reason of appearing all stylish like Altair. The glitch fixes itself if you quickly enter melee stance as you switch to a weapon.

VI: some failed attempts at doing skips at the Cemetery. I couldn't find a way to get to the Bartlett mausoleum early, but... nowadays we don't need to anyways. Strangely, many Cemetery walls lift Alex up quite high instead of letting him go through, and underneath there's only endless plateaus of gray...

VII: some out of bounds sightseeing at the Grand Hotel, a result of my first, failed attempts at doing skips there, as well as just plain curiosity. I even checked out what's inside the room where there's the mysterious voice coming from. There turned out to be nothing there.

If you fall to a lower level out of bounds, the map doesn't become updated. And for some reason there's plenty of room to roam around in the void... The Hotel is a pretty cool place, despite the awful roach problem.
