Hi guys, normally with news videos there is no description to force the viewer to watch the video but either way I still get the view once clicked on so I will post the description here whether you want to watch it in the video or just read this.

Okay i've got some news for you all and you may not like it but a lot of content creators get to a certain point in their Youtube channel careers that they make a video like this, whether it be because they feel burnt out, boredom, other interests, other life commitments or they simply want to stop, with me the reason is simply that my life needs to change and modify. I'm going to be slowing down my channel in 2024 and in the future going forward. This means slowing down future uploads meaning you may be waiting up to 6 months or longer for a new video or ost I really can't tell at this point in time however. I have thought about this for a long time, it's not something I just thought up recently. A few reasons have made me come to this decision.

1. I want to spend more time with my children, I have a 5 and a 2 year old and my 5 year old daughter is starting kindergarten in 2024 and I want to be more involved as a dad. Although I already spend lots of time with the kids I still feel at times that I ''could'' or ''should'' be doing more for them and Youtube and uploading videos all the time feels like a distraction.

2. I get fed up at times of going through so much effort to put these Sega Mega Drive/Genesis music videos up only to get a few views and at times 1 or 2 likes which makes me feel like I shouldn't even bother. It is a case of crying over ''spilt milk'' and to make matters worse, it's all my fault! An own goal if you like. The viewers (you guys) are not to blame at all, I blame myself for never bothering to push and grow the channel which has left it in basically the same state it was in when I started way back in 2009.

3. Someone very close to me in the family has stage 3 pancreatic cancer, it can't be cured and can't be operated on and i'm not sure where it will go from here. I've known about this family member having the aggressive cancer since July 2023 and i've already been in and out of hospital to visit many times. It's an ongoing thing and i'm very scared that I might lose this person next year or sometime in the near future. They recently finished up having ongoing treatment of Radiology but we don't know if the cancer cell has shrunk yet. All we can really do is pro-long the life. So i've got to at least start preparing and learning how to come to terms with the possibility of Palliative Care one day and or losing this beloved family member. I need to spend the next year really caring and showing my support.

So that's the 3 reasons guys for my decision on slowing down. Reason 1 was the main one that prompted the decision with 3 being the most serious, 2 being the least important and really just a whinge on my part.

One of the things that i'm happy I never signed up for was to collect revenue for the videos I upload which I have never agreed with. It just doesn't seem right to collect money for uploading content I don't really own in the first place whether it be video game music or video game playthroughs. There's no Patreon, no discord, no go fund me to my PayPal account and no hiding anything behind a paywall. I have always uploaded every video as a hobby and enjoy sharing everything with you. The upside to this is that I have no sponsors who pay content creators to keep the algorithm of uploading videos going. Lots of the big content creator channels on youtube have these things and since i'm not being tied to any of this means I can come and go as I please at ease and owe nobody anything.

I have been trying to slow down for a few years now but I love uploading videos too much which has trapped me in a never-ending uploading cycle of loving the idea of putting it out there but hate making it and wasting time doing it which is not easy. When I upload a Sega ost CD, I have to literally sit there for the entire 80 minutes of the CD or however long the video is and then drag it over to the computer to convert to something youtube accepts as a suitable video format. I don't use capture cards either so my process of recording and uploading videos is quite annoying.

Not bad for someone that knows absolutely nothing about hacking old video games which means, if I can do it, you can do it too.

Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year!
