SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos Arcade Playthrough Red Arremer 1CC no loss & Gallery on PlayStation 4 [4K]
Full Arcade ladder Longplay, playthrough, walkthrough, guide and gameplay as one of the hidden final bosses Red Arremer. Full one credit run with no rounds lossed, which with Red Arremer is pretty easy as he is a demon of a character, who can pin opponent down due to all his projectile attacks and his dive attacks are also unblockable. Meaning he can trash enemies in seconds and they can do little to unlock him. This video was captured on the recent PlayStation 4 version, which is the original AES version with the debug cheat activated to play as all the bosses and a few extra hacks added to the game along with an art gallery and online support.
Red Arremer & Athena weren't playable in the MVS version or the AES port by default, in the AES version you had to switch on debug mode to use them something only modded Neo Geo AES could do. Both could be unlocked in the PlayStation 2 and Xbox version however, which also included a number of gameplay and balance improvements over the AES release, like Geese easy infinite getting nerfed and Zero's being made harder. Along with new graphics characters and the hidden bosses get bad ending text only for an ending. Plus the rather cool survivor mode which was a serious challenge to beat and unlock all the characters. Sadly as this version is the AES release emulated, so none of that is featured.
Overall SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos was a decent title, but it is somewhat janky in places. Releasing in 2003 it arrived late on the ageing Neo Geo Hardware. It was also developed by playmore who's team's weren't a patch on SNK. It play more like some of the earlier Neo Geo titles as a result and not in a good way. Infamously the command input for Ryu's Dragon Punch / Shoryuken is broken and requires you do a minor diagonal input on the right side, else it won't work. There are lots of other issue as well which don't help.
The arcade ladder has a max of nine fights the forth fight opponent is decided by the number of exceed finishes you do. so get 0 exceed finishes and you fight Dan or Goenitz get 1 or 2 to fight Geese or Demitri and get 3 to fight Zero or Mars People.
Now for the final hidden boss fight of Athena or Red Arremer, well the internet suck big time as no one has figured either out correct. I'm still testing myself to get it 100% correct. but in short you need to beat the game without losing a round. Which is easier than it sounds due to a bug, if you lose a round then, just lose that fight and use a continue as that resets the rounds loss, then win both rounds in the rematch. Next you also need to win five rounds or matches with special moves, super moves don't seem to count. But I think exceeds count as well, but not 100% sure, best advise is just to win every match with a special. Finally to fight Athena get no chip damage finishes, where as one chip damage finish or more will summon Red Arremer instead.
Doing that works for me most of the time, but missing exceeds or not finishing opponents with them may count against you. Some say what you do in the fight against Serious Mr. Karate or Shin Akuma doesn't matters others say you must finish both with a special or super to fight the hidden boss. You may need to defeat one opponent or more in a fast time. Will figure it out for certain myself in the near future and report back.
