SO ANNOYING! Some Of The Most Annoying Video Game Sounds
85There are many things I love about video games over the years, but at the same time, there are also many things I find so annoying about video games. While some games have masterpiece music tracks, some have the worst music ever. Some games have the best, most loveable characters; others have characters you want to punch in the face! Let's look at some of what I consider to be the most annoying video game sounds of all.
Navi - The Legend of Zelda
Hey! LISTEN! No, how about HEY, Let me murderize you! One of the most annoying characters of all time from any video game, Navi was supposed to be helpful. Instead, this little ball of light just constantly says the same thing over and over again, driving you to the brink of insanity. I don't like her, I don't like the Zelda Games on the N64, and I am glad when she's not involved in a Zelda game.
Sonic is DROWNING!
This is less annoying from an audio standpoint and more anxiety-inducing. Mario can be underwater for an unlimited amount of time, but for some reason Sega designed Sonic to need to get bubbles to keep an air supply going. It adds a level of realism, but at the same time the music speeding up and sounding like a pounding heartbeat is enough to push anyone over the edge! Stop It, Sonic! If a plumber can learn to deal with being underwater so can a Hedgehog!
Crying Baby Mario
Ok, this has to be on every single most annoying list for any video game, and I have to admit that Baby Mario's shrill cries in Yoshi's Island is worse than fingernails down a chalkboard. It's so annoying, and I get it, that's the point. It's supposed to force you to want to rescue Mario ASAP, but honestly sometimes I'm like "kid gets what he gets, should have held on tighter". I know there are ROM hacks out there to eliminate this sound, or at least turn it down, but for me this makes an otherwise wonderful game, occasionally, unplayable.
