Both this and Sonic R mark the end of the classic Sonic era. I think this is the ideal version of the game while both this Saturn version and the Genesis version have their own great soundtracks. Visually this is much better. It has texture added to tiles, transparency for water texture in Green Grove Zone, fog and rain for Rusty Ruin Zone, snow in Diamond Dust Zone, tiles tilt wen you step on them in Rusty Ruin Zone, and the bridges dip down when you walk on them in Green Grove Zone. Every stage has real-time rendered props outside of tiled areas like the flowers and wildlife in Green Grove Zone. I don't do the classic stages nor the final fight for that matter since idc about them tbh. I also don't care about Volcano Valley but it would be odd to simply skip the one stage I could live without. It's incredible the mental gymnastics fans of every game franchise go through to basically say "older thing good newer thing bad". What I mean is I have seen some idiot state that the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast's graphics are worse than the Genesis version. Like bruh the graphics are literally the fucking same but with added details. XD
