This session was just finally getting started on basic color block outs and then some shape building with a bit of material exploration on Maria's outfit textures. The work flow is always non destructive masked layers and anchors so as always setup takes a bit of time to get going. Biggest challenge was setting up height layer and shapes for what I imagine may a sort of assisted mobility exo skeleton for her lower half. Maria is dying from her illness so we can imagine in a realistic situation she may have some mobility needs that would have to be addressed in space, with or without gravity. Not only does she have a Knights of Sidonia/Attack on Titan style body harness for any momentary loss of gravity on the Ark, she now also has lower and upper leg support for times when there is not enough energy for her to even walk.

If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you, but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever.
