Sonic Forces Stage 5: Death Egg - Vs. Zavok (100%)
0Zavok is the first boss, and he gets one of the better boss fights in the game. Unusually for a boost game, you fight Zavok in a traditional arena style, rather than running after him. He also uses his electromagnetic abilities to control a giant Buzz Bomber (soundtrack makes this the Death Queen) and summon other, smaller Buzz Bombers. He is also dumb enough to summon rings.
None of the bosses are particularly hard, but Zavok is one of the easier ones. His attacks are pretty easy to dodge, though contrary to what other games expect you to do, you actually shouldn’t jump when he slams the ground. Stand on the ground when he comes down and you’ll be propelled up so you can hit him.
The best part is the end of the fight where Sonic finishes off Zavok by fist fighting him. I was expecting some weird stuff to happen in this game back in 2017, but that was not one of them. You can tell just because of that little flourish that this was one of the bosses they actually finished (poor Chaos).
