Pretty much a bog standard Modern Sonic level. All of them usually follow the same template: a 2D level bookended by some flashy 3D segments. Luminous Forest doesn't have quite the cool factor that the other Modern levels tend to have, but it's still better than Lost Valley thanks to the cool giant snake QTE at the end. Between that, the giant orcas from Sonic Adventure and 06, and the giant gator from Sonic Heroes, I'm convinced giant animals have it out for Sonic.

Mystic Jungle is conceptually a pretty cool location. It's basically ancient ruins in the middle of a jungle that Eggman is building a casino around, a neat new spin on both tropes. Sadly, only Classic Sonic's Casino Forest actually does anything with the casino theming. This level needed an extra something to spice it up, some of the classic bumpers would've even been cool.

Getting all of the collectibles here in one go is surprisingly tricky. Red Ring 3 is on top of a loop at the very end of the 2D section, so you'll need to get the Number and Moon Rings (both easy and found right after one another), the first two red rings backwards, and then backtrack to the top path and take that. It's easy to fall into the bottomless pit if you're not careful. Red Ring 4 is also on a completely different path than Red Ring 5, so you'll need to take that path, backtrack and jump back onto the halfpipe leading to 5. Do not boost until you're facing where you need to go, because you will fly off the side of the half pipe and die.
