Sonic Unleashed - Wii - The Temple of Ice
Holoska
Night
The Temple of Ice
This is the third and final night stage in the Wii's version of Cool Edge. It's cool, and it has edge, you see.
Sonic goes to a region of Holoska we don't see in the 360/PS3 version, which is the ruins of some temple that, at times, looks strikingly similar to a Zelda dungeon. The gameplay here is also, in fact, far more puzzle-oriented than you'd normally expect from Sonic games, much of the time spent looking for switches or whatnot to allow you to get to the next area. It's so oriented towards this that there's only one single required fight in the whole stage, a duel against a bunch of Red Nightmares (an enemy found only in the Wii/PS2 version, though it probably doesn't count as it's just a stronger version of the regular blue Nightmares) and two Titans, their first appearance in the game, story-wise. There are other enemies to beat up, of course, and clobbering them I do, as they're crucial to getting the S-Rank.
Featured more strongly than in Restless Coastside is the Spike enemy. I don't think I covered that in much detail there (if at all), so I'll explain them here. Spikes are an enemy found only in the Wii/PS2 version, and unlike Red Nightmares, Red Deep Nightmares, or Red Titans, are not palette swaps. They contain about as much HP as a normal blue Titan, but they're floating bombs. The countdown goes off the moment Sonic attacks one and will set to blow in about six seconds, following Sonic. They do heavy damage to Sonic if he's caught in the blast, but so do any enemies. They're annoying to gain EXP from (the red sparks that Sonic acquires), as they only provide them if you can whittle their health down to zero before they explode.
