Again, the words "Eggmanland" and "Day" are just placeholders to mean the game classifies the final battle in the game in Eggmanland and that Sonic is his running self. Like in the Wii/PS2 version, however, you start the battle as Chip piloting the Gaia Colossus, a conglomeration of the Temples of Gaia (which house the Chaos Emeralds) much like a super robot. This phase of the battle is far different though: Instead of directly boxing with Dark Gaia like in the other version, the boxing is done through Quick Time Sequences and comes after the Gaia Colossus makes its way over to Dark Gaia.

The Gaia Colossus can move, by the way. I just choose to go boulder-punching because I'm going for the S-Rank. Something people might not know is that you get a lot of points for punching those boulders, and punching a lot of them is absolutely crucial to getting a high score.

Sonic runs down the Gaia Colossus to poke Dark Gaia in the eyes, and the layout is very much the same as that of the Wii/PS2 version, except with more obstacles. The first run contains a pair of grind rails with Dark Gaia having made its way through parts of them. Usually, Sonic gets hurt while grinding without falling off, but this time, he does. The game seems to count it as part of the grind rail missing. And, of course, another big difference is that you're alternating between Chip and Sonic whereas the Wii/PS2 version has you fight as Chip for a while, then do all three running sequences at once.
